Please join me for a community conversation co-hosted by Council Vice President Elizabeth Glidden and the Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization (CANDO).

Community Benefits Agreements (CBA) have historically served as negotiated contracts to ensure that development projects of a certain scope deliver intentional and focused benefits to underserved or local communities.

Detroit is looking to become the first city in the country to require that developers enter into a CBA with the community when projects are awarded a public subsidy or reach a certain threshold.

Locally, residents have discussed CBAs in connection to recent projects like the proposed MLS Soccer Stadium, the City of Minneapolis' owndevelopment projects, and the Seward Coop. Join us for a conversation with community leaders, policy makers, and neighbors to learn more about what makes a CBA tick and the best practices to enact a successful CBA initiative.
