Meet Your Online Instructor: Dr. Rudiger (Rudi) Lennart von Arnim
Dr. Rudigervon Arnim (who prefers to go by Rudi) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics who conducts research in macroeconomic theory. He describes his pet peeves as: “(1) the causes and consequences of inequality, specifically the precipitous decline in the fall of the share of income that accrues to labor, and (2) the reasons for the slowdown in the rate of growth across a number of advanced countries.” He has also consulted for G24, UNDP, UNCTAD, ILO’s Institute for International Studies, and OEFSE (Austrian Foundation for Development Research). Rudi is currently teaching one online course, ECON 4020-090 (Intermediate Macroeconomics), in which he can be seen lecturing at the Lightboard in course videos.
A married father of two children (his 4-year-old just “conquered” the Summit Express chair in Solitude), Rudi likes running in nearby foothills and canyons in search of snow or fall colors –he thinks the woods in his native Germany are wetter, but not as magnificent as those in Utah!
