Dear Students:
I write to provide you with more information about our University’s new partnership with IU Health to provide free virtual COVID-19 screenings to our faculty, staff, and students. These automated screenings will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through IU Health’s COVID-19 BOT, which will be accessible via a smart phone, tablet, or computer, beginning August 10.
During the automated screening, you will answer a series of health-related questions before you receive guidance as to appropriate next steps, which could include a referral to schedule an appointment with our Health Center, receiving immediate care by connecting to the Virtual Screening Clinic, or scheduling an appointment with an IU Health Provider.
These virtual screenings will provide members of our campus community with a safe and convenient option to address their healthcare concerns through a process that helps optimize the use of our local healthcare resources during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am grateful to the members of our TRUST Taskforce who facilitated this partnership opportunity with IU Health. Our University’s ability to offer free virtual screenings for coronavirus to the campus community is another demonstration of our commitment to prioritizing the safety and wellbeing of our employees and students as we prepare for the Fall semester to begin on August 24.
More information about the Virtual Screening Clinic, including FAQs and instructions for downloading the Virtual Visits app, is available at bsu.edu/coronavirus.
Thank you in advance for your support of this new initiative and for your commitment to caring for yourself and for your fellow Cardinals during this challenging time.
