Performance Management Reminder |
The performance management process provides an opportunity for staff and supervisors to step back from day-to-day activities to reflect on the accomplishments of the previous year. This is also a time to recognize career opportunities and set clear goals and expectations for future success. The performance management process encourages employees to celebrate career accomplishments and identify ways to further enhance professional development.
As a reminder, staff performance discussions for 2022 should be completed and submitted by March 31, 2023. If you are a supervisor who conducts reviews, it is time to start scheduling meetings, requesting self-assessments, compiling notes and setting new goals for each of your direct reports. For all staff members, you can prepare for your reviews by thinking through the conversation you would like to have with your supervisors and identifying important goals and accomplishments you would like to achieve this year.
If you are new to the performance review process at UT or need assistance as you prepare your upcoming evaluations, we encourage you to take advantage of the performance review website, which has instructions, answers to frequently asked questions, forms, and learning and development guidance.
For UT System Administration employees, we recommend submitting the completed review to systemhr@tennessee.edu.

Employee Experience Monitor Survey |
On March 14, all active, regular staff received an email from McLean & Company with a link to complete the Employee Experience Monitor (EXM) survey.
The one-question survey asks, “How likely would you be to recommend this organization to a qualified friend or family member as a great place to work?” Employees will be given an opportunity to add additional, confidential comments.
Responses will be returned to McLean. UT will receive anonymous summary reports.
UT adopted the one-question approach to minimize the burden on employees, allow employees an opportunity to provide more frequent feedback and enable a more agile approach to make adjustments according to feedback.
We hope you help us by letting us know how we are doing. If you have any questions about the survey, please contact systemhr@tennessee.edu.

The world is rich with diversity. Life flourishes when environments are welcoming of all values.
To support an inclusive environment, but not to promote or inhibit the celebration of any religious holidays, an updated observance calendar is included in this newsletter each month. Diversity is the one thing we have in common–celebrate it every day.
View the March calendar below for a full list of observances.

Women's History Month is an annual celebration in March that highlights the contributions of women to society throughout history. It recognizes the vital role women have played in shaping culture, politics and society, while also acknowledging the struggles they have faced in achieving equality and recognition.
