A Message from Director Jonathan Lovitz

Dear NGLCCNY members, partners, and supporters:

This summer continues to be a thrilling celebration of victories for our community. Riding the momentum of the marriage equality ruling, we recently had the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission declare that LGBT workers deserve equal protection under employment codes, and we celebrated the introduction of the Equality Act in Congress— promoting equal access to employment, housing, credit, public spaces and services, education, federally funded programs, and beyond for all LGBT citizens.

Clearly, opportunities for our community to succeed in business are the next great frontier in our movement, and the NGLCCNY— especially with our partners right here in New York— continues to lead the way. NGLCCNY's successes are a catalyst for countless chain reactions, fostering business growth, pride, personal empowerment, and a shared purpose to give back and inspire the next generation of LGBT business owners in the New York region.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the NGLCC Conference in Ft. Lauderdale, FL this week and at our upcoming LGBTBE Supplier Roundtable Panel Discussion in NYC on August 19th. As always, the NGLCCNY Executive Committee, ambassadors, and I are here for you to make the most of your membership and achieve the kinds of successes that make NGLCCNY a model chamber for the nation.

A Craig de Thomas: A Philanthropic Spirit with an Infectious Passion

LWT Scholarship Opportunity to Attend NYC Summit!

NGLCCNY Startup & Technology Industry Council Member, Lesbians Who Tech, a global community of over 10,000 queer women (and allies) across all areas of technology, is hosting its Second Annual Summit in New York on October 1-4. The Summit will bring together over 1,000 LGBTQ women across all areas of technology, media digital and finance.

They are offering a limited number of scholarship tickets for people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford the Summit – students, bootstrappers, and early-stage startups.
