for Life


Ryan was a hockey player and advocate; Abi was one of the premier student ambassadors at the College.  Whereas they actually don’t remember their first meeting (probably at a mixer), they can’t imagine life without each other for support as Abi relates: "We both agree that we have no idea how people could meet or maintain a relationship with someone ..." see more
Following in the Footsteps of Greatness 
The Class of 2017 is not only a class of personality but also includes, for the first time, four members who had a parent as a graduate of the College of Optometry and a fifth (Michael Wilson) whose older brother (Josh 06”) also was a graduate. see more
ASCO Meeting Held in St. Louis
The Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry (ASCO) Clinic Directors/Administrators SIG Group held its annual workshop in St. Louis, September 26-28, 2013.  This event was hosted by the UMSL College of Optometry at the Doubletree by Hilton at Union Station. see more

Travel Fellowships
Three cheers for Dr. Carl Bassi’s research team! Christopher Putnam, OD a PhD candidate in the Vision Science program, and Pauline Bland, a third year optometry student and member of the Optometry Scholars Program, were both selected for a Student Travel Fellowship (STF) for the American Academy of Optometry meeting in Seattle, WA.  see more 
Optometry's Got Talent
On Friday night, November 8, over 100 students, faculty, staff, and friends attended the annual National Optometric Student Association (NOSA) sponsored College of Optometry talent show “Optometry’s Got Talent” and they did not leave disappointed.
