Teknovation launched a five-part series focused on various aspects of Tennessee’s statewide mentor network that currently supports startups in two key sectors: life sciences and energy. Part 1 of the series focuses on the formation of these mentor networks.
Part 2 of Teknovation's series outlines the history and progress of the Life Science Mentor Network. He writes: "Since its launch about three years ago, LST has signed up more than 60 individuals to serve as mentors and recruited a total of 20 companies into the program. Six have graduated, and seven are still somewhere in the self-paced, multi-stage process. The others exited the program for various reasons including business strategy shifts, time restraints or relocation."
Venture Nashville profiles Kristina Montague, founder of the women-led investment fund, the JumpFund. He writes: "...Montague told Venture Nashville that during her five years spent establishing JumpFund, she is certain she has seen more women becoming involved in deals, more women-led startups and more women participating in national organizations for Angel investors and others."
Whether out of inspiration or insanity, those who have crammed LaunchTN's 36|86 and Health:Further events into August 27-30 in Nashville have created what they hope will bring a virtual tsunami of entrepreneurs, investors and advisors to Music City.
