Focusing on Public Health
To say that Danielle Bus is busy is an understatement. Since joining Counseling, Health, and Wellness Services last year as Puget Sound’s first public health nurse, she’s worked to coordinate the campus response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She enjoys the process of contact tracing, answering questions, and helping people navigate the complexities of testing and quarantining. Being a registered nurse is Bus’ second career after many years as an educator, and she finds that her time in the classroom, coupled with her own experience going back to school, makes it easy to relate to students. A newcomer to the Pacific Northwest, she tries to make time to read, hike, explore Washington’s natural beauty, and work on developing her cooking skills.
