The California State Fair and the Department of Technology are now accepting nominations for the 2018 Champion of Technology Awards through February 23, 2018.
The California State Fair, in partnership with the California Department of Technology, will select two technology champions for remarkable contributions to California’s technology industry, one in the Individual Category and the other in the Project/Organization Category. Nominees must demonstrate a benefit to California through commendable technological achievement. An agriculture technology focus is encouraged but other areas can also include health, education or other State benefits. Nominations are welcome from all technology sectors including agriculture, public, private, and foundations.
Award winners will be presented with the Champion of Technology Award at the AG Day festivities on the steps of the Capitol on March 21, 2018 and acknowledged at the annual State Fair Gala in June.
In 2017, Champion of Technology Award recipients were Bryan M. Sostokas, Chief Information Officer and Director of Technology & Innovation for the City of Long Beach, and Aire, a national and international leader in providing cutting-edge technology for the blind and visually impaired.
