DENTON HALLOWEEN
Get ready for some Halloween fun in the heart of Denton! The UNT basketball teams are hosting the Nightmare on Elm Street at 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, Oct. 16, on the Denton Square. Head to Elm Street between Hickory and Oak Streets to meet the teams and catch an exciting preview of the season.
While you’re there, explore downtown where it’s scary season all month long. Denton is celebrating 31 Days of Halloween, with activities lined up for the rest of October.

GOT SUSTAINABILITY IDEAS?
The We Mean Green Fund is now accepting project submissions for environmental improvement initiatives on campus. If you’ve got a project idea for Spring 2025, submit a proposal by Monday, Oct. 21, and your idea could be funded.
Also, consider joining the WMGF Committee. This group determines the allocation of the environmental services fee, and consists of students, faculty and staff members who are passionate about sustainable projects at UNT. Members meet about once a month to discuss initiatives. Applications are open through Wednesday, Oct. 30.

ANNUAL DINING SURVEY
If you haven’t seen the Administrative Announcement yet about Dining Services' survey, stop scrolling! UNT Dining Services needs your feedback to improve the on-campus dining experience. Check your email and use your unique code to complete the survey for each dining location you visit. The more surveys you complete, the more chances you have to win prizes.
The survey and contest run through Nov. 22, with weekly prize drawings. Dining Services will announce the winners on X and Instagram, so be sure to follow them to stay updated.

SOAR TO THE POLLS
Don’t want to vote alone this year? If you’re registered to vote in Denton County, meet up with SGA and walk over to the Gateway Center to vote early in the 2024 General Election on either of these dates:
- 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Soaring Eagle statue
- 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 on the Library Mall
Afterward, join SGA and Move North Texas for a party at the polls! Early voting this year is Monday, Oct. 21, through Friday, Nov. 1, including weekends. Before voting, check your registration status and bring either your driver’s license, state ID or passport.

Transportation Services has recently launched a new interactive parking map to make your commute and parking experience smoother. This map will allow you to click and view all parking areas and buildings across UNT. It's a helpful tool for navigating campus, so share it with friends and family who may be visiting!

CHALLENGE WEEK
If you haven’t explored the Talon-to-Talon online community yet, this week is the perfect opportunity. This virtual platform is designed for students to connect, share ideas and access valuable resources. You can access it through the Talon-to-Talon site or the side menu of your Canvas courses.
Challenge Week is underway, featuring daily posts that allow you to engage and win prizes, including Starbucks gift cards, pop sockets and Talon-to-Talon merchandise. To participate, comment or react to posts for entry opportunities, and keep an eye out for “prize alert” notifications.
