   EAGLE ALERT TEST
UNT will conduct a test of the Eagle Alert system on Friday, July 14. The system, used to notify the UNT community about emergency situations and university closings, will send text and voice messages by phone and display a full-screen test alert on computer and presentation screens. Follow @UNTEagleAlert on Twitter to get emergency updates in real time. After the test, we recommend that you save the number your Eagle Alert test came from in your phone contacts as “Eagle Alert” so that it doesn’t display as unknown in the future.

   RESEARCHING DALLAS BLIGHT
UNT researchers Simon Andrew and Hee Soun Jang in the Department of Public Administration worked closely with the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity to identify economically disrupted areas around Dallas to better improve the health, safety and welfare of residents. To address the problem, they conducted a decade’s worth of work and research. They are now following up on the data to see how it has helped or changed these areas.
