Bean Sprouts Family Days are back with extended summer hours from June 13 to August 5! Come help water our mammoth sunflowers and watch the garden change over the summer.

Make Sun Mobiles with The Mexican Museum

Celebrate the summer solstice with the Mexican Museum! Join in on the fun and create a garden-inspired sun mobile.

Growing in the Gardens

Summer Reading Club


June 11 - August 5
Prevent the “summer slide” and get outside with the Helen Crocker Russell Library’s Summer Reading Club. The Summer Reading Club is a free eight-week program for children that encourages reading, physical activity, and nature exploration. Free seeds, weekly raffle prizes, and special events! Recommended for children ages 0-12.

Ease into your Sunday morning with story time and a guided walk for families through the Botanical Garden. Books are geared toward ages 3+, but all are welcome!

Library Crafts for Kids: Nature Printing with Artist Latifat Apatira

Learn the art of nature printing and make greeting cards with artist Latifat Apatira. Recommended for ages 4 and up.

San Francisco Public Library's Story Hour in the Garden with K-Fai Steele

Delight in stories shared by K-Fai Steele, San Francisco Public Library’s 2023 Summer Stride illustrator, and guest author, Cindy Derby.

Celebrate Children's Day with San Francisco Bay Area Moms at the Great Meadow in the beautiful San Francisco Botanical Garden. There'll be fun and games for all ages, and even a special character meet-and-greet!
