Club Leader Updates

Encourage your club members in 7th grade and up to consider taking part in this weekend full of leadership development and fun at Spencer Lake Camp in Waupaca. Our Washington County 4-H educator, Ron, is part of the team that's planning Winter Leadership Camp.

Youth will participate in hands-on, interactive sessions to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a leader and how to apply being a youth leader in their club, county, and school. Adult leader volunteers are needed as chaperones to support youth in learning leadership skills and experiencing the great outdoors. Youth Camper cost is $170 per camper. Registration opens December 1st in 4-H Online.

Partial funding will be offered by the Washington County 4-H Leaders Association for families that need help with camp fees. 

A reminder that 2023-2024 Club Dues & Donation are due to the Extension office by January 15, 2024. 

Your club dues pay the annual insurance policy through American Income Life Insurance for all enrolled 4-H members and leaders, providing medical/accident insurance (covers out of pocket medical expenses for accidents or injuries that happen at a 4-H/Extension event), and go toward 4-H programming. 

NOTE: Use the number of actively participating youth & adult members of your club as of 12/31/2023. Please contact Karen (karen.girard@wisc.edu or 262-335-4478) if you need help determining these numbers for your club

The best way for 4-H members to learn about new opportunities is from fellow 4-H members. Please invite members that have previously gone on any Educational Travel Experiences, or any other state activity like Fall Forum, Art Camp, etc., and encourage them to talk about it at club meetings. This is far more impactful than youth reading about it in the Cloverline!
