The award will be presented to one faculty member or academic unit. All full-time faculty with at least three years of full-time service to the University may be nominated for the award. The award is valued at $3,000, and the recipient will be announced in late spring.
Nominations for the award, which can be made by any member of the University community (students, faculty, staff, and administrators), should be submitted to the nominee's DEAN by Friday, January 23, 2026. Nominators should submit a one-page nomination letter, maximum 300 words, citing the areas of particular excellence (course development, pedagogy, or mentoring/advising), and concisely arguing for the faculty member's or unit's selection. The deans of the academic units will forward the finalist nominations to the Office of the Provost by Monday, March 9, 2026.
The winner will be selected by the Committee to Enhance Learning and Teaching. The awardee and other nominees will be recognized at the annual spring faculty meeting on Thursday, May 7, 2026.
Full details about the award and nomination process can be found on the CELT web page.
Sincerely,
Kevin Goebbert, Ph.D.
