Required National Tournament Vaccine Verification
All in-person tournament attendees must complete the vaccination verification process. In under five minutes, you can submit your COVID-19 vaccination information into a HIPAA-compliant system, where it will then be officially validated by your State or County Health Department registry. You may also apply for a religious or medical exemption via this system. Attendees will receive an email from VaccineCheck prompting them to complete the process shortly after their information is entered into the school's Tabroom.com registration. Please check your spam folder!
Vaccination information must be submitted by May 15. All other individuals who are attending the tournament but are not a student or judge must be entered into the school's Tabroom.com registration at the bottom of the Judges tab. This includes coaches, parents, chaperones, siblings, etc. This will allow us to prompt them to complete the verification and distribute the attendee ribbons required to enter tournament venues.

NEW $1,000 Grant Minimum for Schools Who Host Big Questions Event
We have an exciting update for the Big Questions debate grant—we are making it even easier for your schools to meet their fundraising goals by increasing the funding structure from a minimum of $250 per school to a minimum of $1,000.
-
If 1-2 schools participate, you receive $1,000 (for the first 10 students) + $10 per student after that.
- If 3+ schools participate, you receive $1,150 (for the first 10 students) + $10 per student after that.
This increase applies retroactively for any school that has already applied to host or completed their BQ event this year. We have also extended the deadline to allow for additional events. Apply by May 31. Events must be complete by June 1. This update refers to school-based BQ events only. State partnership and district opportunities remain the same. Apply today »

Get Students Started with Declamation
Declamation is a speech event especially popular with young students who are just getting started with speech and debate. In this format, students choose a speech originally delivered by someone else and make it their own. This allows them to practice public speaking without coming up with ideas on the spot, or going through an intense writing or cutting and acting process. Introduce students to the event basics with our Declamation Starter Kit including guidelines for choosing a piece, cutting, and making it your own.

Recognize Students with Honor Cords
NSDA students are eligible to wear honor cords at graduation and induction ceremonies. Honor cords demonstrate membership in our Honor Society and, for many, the opportunity to wear them is an enticing part of membership. School policies vary—check with your administration about whether your students can wear honor cords, and share our letter to help make the case.
