Romans 5:18-19
Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people.  For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
New International Version (NIV)
Can one person make a difference?  When William Wilberforce decided to throw the substantial weight of his conscience against slavery in England, the evil institution was abolished.   Where does God want you to make a difference today?
In his letter to the Romans, Paul contrasts the disobedience of the first Adam with the obedience of the second Adam.  Adam and Eve's consumption of sour grapes have left all of our teeth on edge.  Adam's disobedience led to destruction.
On the other hand, Christ's obedience leads us to life.  Through his death on the cross, Christ offers justification to all who will believe.  We are made righteous through Christ alone.
You have heard that no act of kindness is ever wasted.  Christ's death on the cross gives us life.  In our case, no act of obedience to Christ is ever wasted.  Obedience begets more obedience.  Moody heard Henry Varley say, "The world has yet to see what God will do in and through and with a person wholly consecrated to Him."  Moody decided to be that person.  Will we?  J. B. Tidwell was right when he wrote, 1 + God is always a majority!
 Pray with me:
Father, thank you for the perfect obedience of your Son.  His suffering has brought us to life.  Help us to live worthy of the gospel we have believed today.  Guide us on the long path of obedience which leads through the narrow gate all the way to life.  In Jesus’ name. Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
