Give the Gift of Oregon this Season

Give the Gift of Oregon is a campaign to inspire Oregonians to shop at local businesses this holiday season. The campaign runs from Nov. 21-Dec. 31 to promote Oregon small businesses and encourage Oregonians to buy local gifts. This includes gift cards from restaurants, lodging gift cards, Oregon-made products from small retailers and Oregon’s bounty including food, wine, spirits, beer and coffee.
Travel Oregon is collaborating with regional partners to ensure Give the Gift of Oregon extends statewide. There are many “buy local’” campaigns happening throughout Oregon, and this statewide promotion highlights many of these on social media with the #GivetheGiftofOregon hashtag.
Industry partners and businesses that choose to participate will be asked to engage on key dates and share the promotion through their consumer channels. Travel Oregon and Regional Destination Management Organizations (RDMOs) will support local businesses and local holiday campaigns through promotion in paid and owned channels.
Use the toolkit to access photo assets, social media images and banners for your websites, newsletters and more.
See the campaign on traveloregon.com to see gift ideas from across the state.

Oregon State Parks Offers Free Parking Day Following Thanksgiving

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) encourages Oregonians and visitors to spend time outdoors Nov. 25, the day following Thanksgiving. Coined "Green Friday," Oregon State Parks will waive day-use parking fees in the 24 parks across the state.
Parking is free year-round at almost all state parks; the waiver applies to the parks that charge $5 daily for parking. Fee parks include popular destinations such as Fort Stevens, Cape Lookout, Silver Falls, Champoeg, L.L. Stub Stewart, Smith Rock and Milo McIver.
A complete list of parks that require day-use parking permits is available here. Fall Creek is listed but closed for the season.
The fee waiver applies from open to close on Nov. 25, except at Shore Acres State Park, where it expires at 4 p.m. for the Holiday Lights event that runs Thanksgiving through New Year's Eve.
