Friday’s event marked a historic moment for Clemson and the state of South Carolina as the only college of veterinary medicine in the state broke ground. Earlier in the day, the Board of Trustees approved the name of the new College, which honors Harvey S. Peeler Jr., a 1970 Clemson graduate, South Carolina senator and tireless advocate for a school of veterinary medicine at Clemson.

The Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center will become Clemson’s gathering hub, a place to welcome home prospective students, parents, alumni, friends, faculty and staff.
