MESSAGE FROM
EONY MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
Business as Usual
Fellow EO Members,
Celebrate the Wins. It's a bit hard to do when so many are still challenged and the future business climate remains uncertain. However, there is something very powerful in those three simple words. Sometimes we just need to look back over our shoulders to see how far we have come. Nothing highlights that more than going through this past year. My hat goes off to EONY Social Chair Ben Rosner and his team of funsters. They created "celebration opportunities." for us in EO when we may not have taken the time to create them for ourselves. It's harder to celebrate a win than it is to mourn a loss. Losses are ritualized systematically while celebrations are typically somewhat optional.
MAKE A MARK We are not afraid of challenging conventions. We are in control of our destiny, and with that comes a great responsibility. To build value. To make a difference. To leave a legacy. We are willing to put in the effort to transform any experience into a positive one for all.
The only thing more insane than being the person who must plan celebrations in a pandemic is perhaps the people who show up to those celebrations. It was clear that there was a very real concern for safety while also making sure members had some fun. With all the constraints in place, EONY Masterfully had a summer party, happy hours, online comedy, and magicians lined up. There is even a Winter party in the works. It was a social life adapted to be sure, but for many of us, this represented the first and only special aspects we ventured into for the better part of a year. EO created the path to acknowledge fun.
Celebrating the wins took on new meaning. Simply being healthy was a win, so was just being in business, getting PPP, finding new avenues of income, relocating residences, transitioning work remotely, shifting plans, pivoting financially, and for many it meant continued growth. EONY made sure we had the opportunity to acknowledge wins, and what made it even better was that we got to do it with each other.
If you know of a prospective member that would be the kind of person that would also like to celebrate the wins, please have them check out EONY and let us introduce them to what this looks like in practice.
I'm happy to answer any questions and personally reach out to anyone you feel would make a great addition to our chapter. EONY Membership Team and Chapter Manager Ayeska Pichardo are ready to make it happen! Thanks again for helping us grow through quality referrals.
Best Regards,
EONY Membership Committee TeamLen, Lisa, Shad, David, Debarshi, Ayeska, and Jessa
