Choose Right: Exercise And Screening for You

Nearly all older adults can safely meet the national recommendations of engaging in moderate intensity physical activity (such as brisk walking or gardening) for at least 30 minutes a day, most days of the week. The EASY tool helps you know when to see a health care provider to discuss your exercise plan and how to choose activities for optimal benefit if you have any health problems.

It is always a good idea to start at a level that is easy for you and to build up slowly. See the attached safety tips.

While it is generally not necessary to see a health care provider before beginning every-day physical activities that are of light or moderate intensity, we encourage you to talk with your health care provider about your health and exercise as part of your regular visits.

When your baby isn’t old enough to walk, it may seem silly to take them to the pool. But there can be so many benefits to splashing around and gliding through the water. You don’t want to wait too long to introduce your baby to the pool. Children who don’t get their feet wet until later tend to be more fearful and negative about swimming. It is a wonderful parent-child bonding experience while teaching them important life skills.

5 Benefits of starting Infant Swim Lessons as early as 6 months…

    • Helps reduce the risk of drowning

    • Helps coordination and balance

    • Improves strength

    • Increases appetite and sleep

    • Bonding and social skills

WHY DOES RPM WORK?
RPM™ combines hit music with the motivational power of an inspiring Instructor leading you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. The workout is based on the science of Cardio Peak Training, which involves maintaining your heart rate at an aerobic training base (between 60 and 80 percent of your maximum heart rate) with interspersed peaks of intensity (pushing you to 85 to 90 percent of your max)...read more
