Updated resources for PSU students |
As campus continues to contend with the disruptions due to the closing of the Millar Library, here are some updated resources for students:
|
Though the Millar Library building is closed for repairs, you can get library help in the FMH Student Services Lobby Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., or speak to a librarian anytime using 24/7 online library chat. The Library is currently unable to lend print books or equipment; if you need access to a course reserve, ask your instructor or a librarian for help with alternative access to required materials.
Right now library staff are unable to process returned items. If you have books or other items checked out, you can renew the loan on the library website or email circ@pdx.edu to request an extension. You can return books to the book drop at SW 10th and Montgomery to be processed once library staff have a temporary workspace. You will not be charged overdue fines during this time.
We hope to open a temporary service point with course reserves later in May, with the Millar Library reopening by fall term.

The Learning Center is now offering in-person tutoring in our new temporary tutoring hub located in the Broadway Residence Hall on the 2nd floor in room 226.
Our current tutoring hours are:
M-TH 9am - 7pm
F 9am - 5pm
Sunday offerings will be remote via Zoom from 1-7 p.m for now.
Appointments can be booked via Penji. We also have drop-in times available during our regular business hours with 1-3pm M-TH being our drop-in only times to ensure faster access to a tutor.
Attached is a map of the 2nd floor of the building. Please enter in on the Broadway street side (key card access only) and take the stairs or elevators to the second floor. We are in the newly remodeled student lounge.
The space is big and you are welcome to come just to hang out and study. We have four computers that you may use if they are not being used for zoom tutoring sessions.
Academic Coaching is located in FMH Suite 360 (advising suite).

Emotional & Mental Health Support |
Counseling Services offers confidential mental health support Monday-Thursday 9-5 and Friday 10-5. Students are welcome to walk in to SHAC or call 503-725-2800 during business hours to schedule a same day appointment. Students are also welcome to web-book an initial consultation appointment through the Patient Portal.
We recognize the current state of overwhelm and exhaustion in this moment and we invite students to consider attending a virtual workshop Monday evening entitled: A Trauma Informed Nervous System Approach to More Effectively Cope with Anxiety, Depression and Emotions. More information and zoom link can be found here.

Find out why Campus Rec is not your ordinary gym |
Throughout the month of May, the Rec Center will be “Breaking the Brand” of what a typical gym or fitness environment looks like and sharing what we really want the PSU community to know about toxic diet and fitness culture, weight stigma, and other harmful myths. Guided by four weekly themes we will be tackling topics such as diet and fitness trends, who really belongs in a gym, the mental health benefits of movement, and the importance of rest and recovery. Visit our website for additional information and resources to learn more.
