| Nutrition Recommendations from Holli Booe, MS, RDN, LD
|
Healthy eating in college doesn’t have to be complicated. With a little planning, you can fuel your brain and body for busy days on campus:
- Cheese & Yogurt: Grab cheese sticks or Greek yogurt cups for portable, protein-rich snacks.
-
Fruits: Apples, bananas, grapes, and berries make easy grab-and-go snacks—or blend into smoothies for a refreshing option.
- Veggies: Try to have pre-washed baby carrots, bell peppers, and cucumbers on hand for quick, colorful bites—or add them to wraps or sandwiches for added flavor and texture.
-
Nuts, Seeds & Butters: Sprinkle into salads or yogurt, or spread nut butters on fruit or whole grain toast for lasting energy.
- Whole Grains: Choose crackers, cereals, or popcorn made with 100% whole grains, minimal sugar, and simple ingredients.
-
Energy Bars: Keep a bar with simple ingredients and natural protein sources on hand for when you’re on the go and don’t have time for a full meal.
Smart snacking helps you stay focused in class, power through workouts, and keep up with college life.
