New Life K9s in the News

New Life K9s was featured in a news story at an event held in Santa Barbara to raise awareness!

“Nothing really worked for me until I got Eddie and he has completely changed my life,” says Greg (pictured here), a retired Police Officer and part-time volunteer at New Life K9s. Click the image to view the video!

Bootcamp in Progress

We are very excited that we are currently conducting another bootcamp where several veterans are learning to work with their soon to be service dogs. Our bootcamp helps our veteran and first responder recipients build a bond with their dog and learn how they can apply all the useful skills our inmate handlers have taught their dogs. During our two week bootcamp, the recipients learn the different skills their dogs know, and practice them in their real life situations. Thanks to our wonderful donors and supporters, we are working to place a total of 5 dogs at this bootcamp!

Our Newest Puppies

Meet our newest puppies, Faith and Bravo! Faith, a yellow Labrador Retriever, is starting her education at CMC in San Luis Obispo, and Bravo, a black Labrador Retriever, has started at CTF in Soledad! Be sure to keep up with Faith and Bravo on their very own pages on our website. A huge thank you to Quail Haven Ranch for breeding these wonderful puppies and giving us a discount!

Volunteer Opportunities
Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteer puppy raisers who have made it possible for us to provide these free life-saving service dogs to Veterans and First Responders. Our volunteer puppy raisers are each assigned a dog and make a 2 year commitment to take their assigned dog out every weekend until they graduate. They care for the dog and practice the skills taught by our inmate handlers every weekend.
If you are interested in supporting New Life K9s as a volunteer please check out the various volunteer opportunities we have available.
