OGS Appointments and How to Cancel

There are three things you need to know about OGS appointments:

We have Zoom and in-person appointments available Monday - Friday during which you can speak one on one with an OGS advisor regarding any questions you may have regarding your immigration status in the US,
If you can’t make your appointment, you need to cancel it to free up space for other students to take your unused slot, and
All updates on office and advising hours are always posted to the OGS contact us web page.

Appointment Types

If you need a travel signature, you can simply request one online by completing our Document Release Form (no appointment needed).

Virtual/Zoom Appointments

If you'd prefer to meet with an OGS advisor online, here’s how to schedule a Zoom advising appointment.

In-Person

If you'd prefer to meet with an OGS advisor in-person, simply click the link for the office you'd like to visit to get your 15-minute appointment.

Book an appointment in Manhattan (383 Lafayette Street)
Book an appointment in Brooklyn (5 MetroTech Center, 259)

You will be asked a few questions, and then select OGS F1/J1 Visa Holder Appointments when asked which area you would like to get in line for. You'll then be able to select a date and time that works best for you.

NOTE: While in our offices, all visitors are required to comply with NYU's health protocols. This includes wearing a mask and being authorized to be on campus (including the completion of the Daily COVID-19 Screener).

Free up Space for Other Students: Cancel if You Can’t Make Your Appointment

Please keep in mind that if you can’t make your appointment, be sure to cancel it so that we can open your slot up to another student. Last minute cancellations mean that we can’t open your slot up for other students, so cancel as early as you can if you don’t plan to arrive for your scheduled appointment.
