NSF Awards Fellowships to 60 Graduate Students
|
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded 60 Georgia Tech students with Graduate Research Fellowships (GRF). The fellowships, valued at $159,000 each, include funding for three years of graduate study and tuition. Their awards total more than $9.5 million in funding, the most Georgia Tech has ever had in the program.

Georgia Tech has been invited to nominate up to 7 candidates for the Schmidt Science Fellows Cohort 2025. Nominees must have been awarded or anticipate being awarded a Ph.D. in the natural sciences (including Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Sciences), Engineering, Mathematics, or Computing disciplines – and all sub-disciplines therein – between May 15, 2024, and June 30, 2025. The program is for (soon to be) recent Ph.D. graduates who want to pursue a research pivot representing a genuine and innovative disciplinary departure from their Ph.D. studies. Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellowship
|
The Azrieli International Postdoctoral Fellowship supports the best and brightest minds in their postdoctoral research in Israel, connecting them with world-class academics and leading researchers. Twenty-four fellowships are offered, each for 2 years with the possibility for a one-year renewal. Candidates are required to have an academic sponsor who is a faculty member at an eligible Israeli academic institution. Open to candidates who have received their PhD degrees no earlier than November 1, 2020, and no later than June 1, 2024. Online application closes at 5:00 pm IST (11 a.m. EST) on May 9, 2024.

Full- and part-time students who have paid their student fees will have access to the CRC and its amenities and can purchase a group fitness pass, personal training sessions, massage therapy, or any other additional services. Campus Recreation maintains several free outdoor spaces for community use, including basketball, tennis, volleyball, and pickleball courts, an outdoor track, recreation fields, and more. The Wellness Empowerment Center has partnered with Happy Tails to bring Pet Therapy to the greater Georgia Tech community. Pet Therapy is a form of Animal-assisted therapy. This modality of therapy offers the greater GT community the ability to reduce stress and anxiety increased calmness, decreased loneliness, improves social supports and achieve a greater sense of belonging, while promoting an overall sense of wellbeing for participants.
By joining us at a pet therapy event, you will engage in restorative stimulation, conversation, companionship, and sensory gratification. Smiles and laughter are also great medicine. At the pet therapy event, the greater Georgia Tech community will have the opportunity to pet and play with therapy dogs.

Additional Opportunity: Peer Coaching Program Now Accepting Applications for Peer Coaches
|
The Peer Coaching Program is a program developed by the Center for Mental Health Care and Resources to offer an innovative way for Tech students to access a unique type of support to facilitate academic and personal success. The PCP trains Tech students to provide one-on-one support and education to their peers and offers ongoing supervision in the provision of these services. The Center is now accepting applications from students who wish to be trained as a Peer Coach in Fall 2024. If you feel you would be a good fit and are ready to make an impact on the lives of your peers, please apply. Any questions can be sent to peercoaching@gatech.edu. The deadline to apply is April 26.

Georgia Tech’s Parking and Transportation Services is pleased to announce the start of the renewal and permit purchase season for the upcoming 2024-25 academic year. the 4th Annual SEEDS Conference which will be held at Georgia Institute of Technology on April 25-26, 2024. The conference will bring together social scientists from a variety of fields, including economics, international affairs, political science, public policy, and sociology. The SEEDS Conference features Francisca Antman, as its 2024 Keynote Speaker. Her current work focuses on the impact of migration on the health and education outcomes for children and parents of migrants remaining in Mexico. She will present on "Water Quality, Alternative Beverages, and Economic Development."
