Topic: Building on St. Michael’s Commitment to Belonging Presented by: The St. Michael's Board of Trustee's Inclusion and Belonging Advisory Commitee
The Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities will return to St. Michael’s to continue our School’s ongoing conversations about Belonging. Attendees will consider the importance of belonging, reflect on their experiences as students and parents, and discuss practices to ensure that all children feel seen, included, and supported. They will also consider evidence-based approaches to help foster positive and inclusive peer relationships.

Dragons and Squirrels Together!
Exciting News! On Wednesday, May 6, our Middle School Choir will be singing the National Anthem at the 7 p.m. kickoff of the Richmond Flying Squirrels Baseball Game in the new Carmax Stadium! First pitch is right after.
Let's show our DRAGON PRIDE by wearing school spiritwear/colors, attending the game, and cheering for our amazing St M Choir!

Magic Dragon Day Needs
Stuffed Animals Wanted: The much-loved Pet Palace, where students can use their Magic Dragon Day tickets to select a stuffed animal friend, returns to Magic Dragon Day this year!
- Please bring in your washed, gently used stuffed animals. Collection bins will be placed in the Lower School and Middle School front offices.
- Collection will also take place THIS Monday, April 20, Thursday, April 23, and Tuesday, April 28, during morning carpool.

Middle School Wellness Day
On the afternoon of this Wednesday, April 22, Middle School students will participate in Wellness Day activities focused on mental, social-emotional, and physical health & wellness.
- On April 22, Middle School students should dress down in St M SPIRITWEAR.
The keynote presentation topic is: LOVE is STRENGTH. Sunny Goode, founder of LovEvolve, will be speaking about the power of self-love, kindness, and resilience. Students will then rotate through breakout sessions on the following topics:
Physical Activity: Martial Arts
- Our Lower School Spanish teacher, Angelica Martinez, will be leading students through dynamic martial arts inspired exercise. They will also be introduced to Taekwondo principles such as courtesy and self-control.
Changing our Thoughts: ANTS (Automatic Negative Thoughts)
- Clinical psychologist, Dr. Kim Hilton, will help us learn how to spot ANTS, understand why our brains create them, and practice simple strategies to challenge and replace them with more balanced, helpful thoughts.
Uplifting our Mood: Canine Companions
- Volunteers from Canine Companions will be joining us in the PAC to discuss the positive impacts that pets can have on all kinds of health.
Ways to Protect our Health & Wellness: Speak Up Club
- Four members of Trinity’s Speak Up Club will be presenting on the effects of sleep, nutrition and stress levels on overall wellness.

Our Lost and Found Boxes are OVERFLOWING and will be donated on Friday, April 24. Please have your child(ren) check to see if they have any items in the bins before then.

For the health and safety of all of our students, faculty, and staff, thank you for informing St. Michael’s if your child is ill and/or has a suspected contagious illness.
Upon receipt of this information, Nurse Maben, St M's school nurse, will contact the family. Please keep your child(ren) AT HOME until contacted by Nurse Maben.
