Millrace Open House on University Day |
CPFM hosted an open-house for the Millrace Enhancement and Restoration Project on May 18th. Information was shared and feedback was gathered on the Schematic Design of the Millrace. Students, staff, and faculty from across campus came to participate in the activities. Many volunteered their time by removing invasive plants and planting native ones. A big leaf maple tree was planted in the area to commemorate University Day and kick off the restoration project. CPFM gifted a plaque to recognize University Day 2023, which will accompany the tree along the Millrace.

The Campus Planning office toured the OIMB campus to look at updates they have made, the projects they are working on, and the projects they have planned. Craig Young and James Johnson gave a thorough tour of the campus spaces, as well as the private beach and boathouse lecture hall.
"We were also grateful for the guided tour of the Marine Life center from Trish Mace who introduced us to their star attraction, CJ the Octopus, who was very active and entertaining!" - Cassie Taylor, Campus Planning

Drivers checking out vehicles from the front office are now responsible for refueling vehicles for the next driver. All 3 of the vehicles have a card with the fuel information on them. These are located on the drivers sun visor. Anybody can fuel them before/after their trip, just please be courteous to those using it after you!

“Mike’s been doing really great work around our building.” - Steve Dunn

“I just wanted to give a quick shoutout to the grounds crew. PE & Rec’s trades maintenance staff member that focused on our outdoor complexes recently retired and his replacement has yet to start the position. So, I have been conducting some walk-throughs around the SRC and the turf fields and I have to say that the planters/vegetation look fantastic! Minimal to no weeds, things are trimmed, and everything looks great – so great that I don’t really have much for my staff to focus on for University Day” - Cody Weaver
