Finance & Administration

Dear Colleagues,

When it was announced in October 2023, Stony Brook’s Strategic Plan provided an ambitious outline for continuing our momentum in delivering New York State the flagship it deserves. Today we write to share an update on the unveiling of WolfieONE, the campus’s new and updated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software that will transform the way our campus works by strengthening our operational maturity and effectiveness.

WoflieONE is directly related to one of the Plan’s priorities, Reimagining the Way We Work, by streamlining and simplifying processes, creating efficiencies, and fostering an environment where our cross-campus teams have improved access to data that is more transparent and seamlessly shared across Stony Brook.

Since 2020, our senior leadership team, along with our Finance, Human Resources (HR), Information Technology, and Budget teams, have been gathering data and determining how our institution can best support and manage our financial, HR and business operations in the years ahead. Implementation of WolfieONE will help improve our business practices, free our staff from complex, labor-intensive processes and enable all of us to focus on advancing our Strategic Plan, helping us achieve the ambitious goals we have set to propel Stony Brook to higher levels of excellence.

We’d like to thank the teams at Stony Brook University as well as Stony Brook Medicine who have been involved in bringing us to this exciting point. Adopting a new ERP will require commitments of time and resources from many teams across Stony Brook and the support of all faculty and staff. A campus-wide town hall detailing the WolfieONE initiative is planned for this semester.

Our efforts now will help continue to support the complex work of a leading research institution while elevating the experience of our business partners across Stony Brook by enhancing, optimizing and modernizing many of the existing business practices we use. Thank you in advance for your support of this significant initiative.

Sincerely,
