TOCSL EVENTS

Good Morning, Commuters
Join us for our last FREE breakfast of the semester for commuter students on Wednesday, May 1st, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM (or until supplies last). This event is a great opportunity for off-campus students to connect while enjoying coffee, pastries, Qdoba burritos, and more. 
2024 Graduates: Don’t forget to bring your cap! We will have limited supplies available for cap decorating.

Transfer and Off-Campus Student Appreciation Week
This week TOCSL will be hosting events to celebrate transfer and off-campus students from April 29-May 3. Join us to receive free goodies and make new friends! Follow us on IG @umdtocsl for daily updates. 
Test Your Knowledge: Trivia Night with Student Engagement
Join Student Engagement for trivia, free food, and prizes on Friday, May 3! All teams should sign up here by Wednesday, May 1. If you are an individual who needs to be placed on a team, please indicate that on the sign-up form.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month 2024 Week 5
Let’s go! It’s the final week of Sexual Assault Awareness Month - This week’s T.E.A.L. focus is learning! Don’t miss the final event: Art & Affirmations from 3:30-5pm with OCRSM in Stamp’s Studio A. 
During SAAM it is important to practice self-care and self-love! This workshop will explore what practicing self-care and self-love look like for students while recognizing how the 10 signs manifest in the relationship with one’s self. During this workshop, students will explore self-care strategies and activities through various art forms including painting, vision board making, coloring, etc. Cookies and light refreshments will be provided!

Join PLUMAS, Migrating Shells, and Immigrant and Undocumented Student Life for our annual Dream Gala, which celebrates immigrant students and child of immigrant students! Click here to register, tickets are free!

APIDA Heritage Month
At the University of Maryland, we hold Asian, Pacific Islander, & Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month during April. Learn more about the events being offered for APDIA Heritage Month at this link.
LEAD305: Leadership & Ethics
LEAD305 is open to students from all majors and satisfies an elective for the Leadership Studies minor or certificate. Students will analyze real case studies and learn from experts across multiple disciplines who are investigating real ethical leadership challenges in technology, medicine, law, the arts, and more.

SCHOLARSHIP

SECU Scholarship for Recently Transferred Students
The SECU MD Foundation has a long history of helping students achieve their goals through the annual SECU MD Foundation Scholarship program. The foundation is awarding $10,000 scholarships to 12 students currently attending any of Maryland's 16 community colleges who are transferring to a University System of Maryland (USM) university for the 2024-2025 academic year. Students currently enrolled at a USM school who recently transferred within the last 18 months are also eligible to apply. Applications are being accepted from March 18 - May 3. 

 HEALTH

Massage Therapy
Massage therapy has many benefits to the mind, body and soul. It helps relieve pain, ease stress, improve sleep, and so much more. Massage Therapy is available to students, faculty, and staff at an affordable cost! Students who are enrolled in the University of Maryland Student Health Insurance Plan are eligible to receive one (1) free massage therapy each semester. Learn more about Massage Therapy at the University Health Center and book an appointment today. 
Naloxone Training
Did you know you can get Naloxone at the UHC for free? Just attend a Naloxone Training! Register for a free, one-hour training. We hope to see you there!
Nutrition Coaching (free)
Peer Nutrition Coach can help you incorporate all your favorite holiday foods into a nourishing diet.  Email nutritioncoach@umd.edu to set up an appointment 
Wags for Wellness
Wags for Wellness is an Animal Assisted Activity, featuring well trained and highly skilled volunteer pups from our partner organization People. Animals. Love. (PAL). Visit the Health Center’s Wags for Wellness page for more information and a list of upcoming special events this spring.
The Wellness Series
The Counseling Center is hosting drop-in virtual skills sessions. Check out any or all of the 16 topics Mondays-Thursdays at 4PM throughout the semester.
