Happy Spring! And happy April! This part of the semester moves quickly, and a lot is happening all at once. Take a moment to pause and take stock of how far you’ve come. This semester has likely asked a lot of you, and it’s worth recognizing the effort you’ve put in along the way.

Try to stay grounded in what matters most. Make space for small wins, moments of connection, and anything that helps you feel a bit more like yourself in the middle of it all.

Meet Sebastian Messner: A sociology major and psychology minor student who transferred from Pasadena City College. In his free time, he likes to swim, play soccer, and explore the city and different foods. 

Advice to fellow transfer students: Get involved with the community here at USF and begin building your social network! Look for people who have similar interests to you and make friends with those who may open new doors for you. The community here is very welcoming, and making those connections truly makes your time at USF well worth it.

Meet Qianyi Loo: As the Transfer Admission Counselor, Qianyi has the privilege of working closely with prospective transfer students. Through her role, Qianyi aims to help demystify the transfer pathway to USF and provide high-touch, holistic, and transparent advising.

Advice to fellow transfer students: Proudly embrace and uplift your identities in all spaces. Always reach out for support, connect with campus resources, and meet with current staff and faculty members.
