And Now A Word From Andy

Last month I had the honor of being appointed by Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot to his Business Advisory Council. The Business Advisory Council is a forum the Comptroller established several years ago composed of CEO’s of large and small businesses from across the state to advise him on issues that affect Maryland’s economy and business climate. It also serves as a valuable source of ideas for him for improving the taxpayer services provided by the Comptroller’s Office.

As a long time business owner (37 years) and a past chair of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce I have a lot of thoughts and ideas on how Maryland can improve its business climate and make the state friendlier to business – especially small business. I’m glad to be able to help the Comptroller in his efforts as I have found him to be the most open minded state wide elected official when it comes to business. I also think he’s done a great job in making the Comptroller’s office much more customer service oriented.

My first meeting on the Council is in mid-September. If you have any ideas, thoughts or issues you would like me to bring up please feel free to email me at astern@andysterns.com
