Texas CASA is excited to launch our FY27–29 Strategic Plan, a three-year roadmap for strengthening our statewide network and moving us closer to our shared vision that every child in the child welfare system has a CASA volunteer solely focused on advocating for their best interests. 

Developed by our Board of Directors with input from Texas CASA staff and CASA programs, the plan is centered around six interconnected priorities that will guide our work over the next three years — from raising awareness about meaningful volunteer opportunities to educating our community about CASA’s critical role to ensuring programs have the resources to support their volunteers. Read the full Strategic Plan to explore each priority, the strategies behind them, and the milestones and measures that will help us track our progress together.

As application season kicks off, youth in foster care face unique barriers when it comes to higher education, from navigating financial aid to understanding tuition waivers to simply knowing where to start. Whether a student in your life is applying this year or still a few years out, there's important groundwork to lay now.

This training walks through what advocates and caregivers need to know: college readiness timelines, financial aid, and tuition-waiver resources specific to youth in foster care.
