Another Sunday, another newsletter. Hopefully you're all getting in the groove of keeping up with our announcements (because there can be many of them), the same way your kiddos are getting in the groove of the school year. Building new routines can take time, but things seem to be settling quite nicely around here.

Last night, the Melbourne Cricket Ground hosted the first NFL regular-season game ever played in Australia. For those who follow football, the 49ers beat the Rams 27–7, and more than 100,000 people packed into the stands to see it. But for me, as a Victorian, it was about far more than the score or even the novelty of the NFL arriving in Australia. It was about seeing a new sporting story unfold at a place that sits at the very heart of my home city. We would never normally call it the Melbourne Cricket Ground, of course. In true Victorian fashion, we shorten it to “The G’” and those two words mean a great deal to anyone who has grown up in or loved Melbourne.

On Friday, 3rd-6th grade students joined for an engaging presentation from Sara Dousharm, New Hanover County Recycling and Solid Waste Program Coordinator.
She shared with students about how the landfill works, the recycling system, and touched on composting. Recycling and Composting leadership is already underway on campus - great job students and teachers!

The world of AI is ever-expanding and it's important to stay informed about each way it affects our communities. 

On Thursday, October 15th, a local Wilmington parent and author, Wylde Scott is hosting a workshop about preparing our children to thrive in the world of AI. Scott is the author of bestseller, Raising Dreamers and the founder of The Imagination Project.
