Hands of Hope AmeriCorps Members will serve these vulnerable children throughout a 12-month commitment, living in a private, gated community (at no cost) and receiving a living allowance.

Medical Assistant Position - Dermatologic Surgery Center of Washington
Very busy dermatologic surgery center in Chevy Chase needs motivated and energetic college graduate for medical assisting position. Will train but must have completed core pre-med curriculum and received BA or BS. Applicant will learn to take patient history, assist in minor surgical and cosmetic procedures, learn how to apply wound dressings and scribe clinical notes. Participate in teaching sessions and clinical tutorials. Applicant should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be highly computer literate. Ideal candidate will have some experience and interest in biomedical research. This is an opportunity to increase your knowledge of medicine, develop clinical skills and publish.

Association of Minority Zoo and Aquarium Professionals - Spring 2024 Internship (National Zoo)
The AMZAP Entry Level Husbandry Program is designed for individuals looking to gain their first experience in exotic animal husbandry. Interns will work with lions and tigers at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo.

In your personal statement, please answer the following questions:
Why do you want to participate in the AMZAP Entry-Level Animal Husbandry Program?
What, if any, previous animal care (at any level) experience do you have?
If applicable, how has your experience as a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or Person of Color) influenced your career path so far?

Stetson Lee Orthopaedics Internship Opportunity
Stetson Lee Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine is looking to hire four recent college graduates and aspiring doctors for their year-long, paid internship program. This internship is designed to provide practical experience to college graduates bound for medical school. Interns will also have the opportunity to attend both arthroscopic and open surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, hip, and ankle, as well as engage in ongoing research projects with the goal of publishing their projects in peer-reviewed journals.
Position Requirements:
Must have recently graduated from a university (Class of 2023 included)
Must have taken the MCAT
Planning on attending medical school
Interest in orthopedics a plus
Time Commitment
Full-time, with a commitment from late May/early June 2024 through mid-June 2025

Children's National - Research Associate Opportunities - Two RA Positions
Full-Time Research Associate
Must have experience working with preclinical mouse models. Laboratory experience with animal procedures, qPCR, DNA/RNA processing, microscopy, and immunohistochemistry is preferred.
*Job responsibilities include:
Manage 100-150 cage mouse colony,
Serve as lab manager and main contact for laboratory operations,
Perform BSL2+ experiments to study prenatal viral infection,
Write compliance protocols (IRB, IACUC, etc), and
Help to lead and mentor undergraduate lab members.
Full-Time Research Associate
Must have experience working with cell and tissue culture models. Laboratory experience with cell and tissue culture, qPCR, RNA processing, microscopy, Western Blot, and immunohistochemistry is preferred.
*Job responsibilities include:
Manage and grow multiple cell lines (iPSCs, NSCs, organoids),
Perform experiments in a BSL2+ lab,
Help to lead and mentor undergraduate lab members,
Administrative ordering and organization of lab,
Maintain clinical and translational databases, and
Engage in global health partnerships and communications.
Successful candidate will have:
- A GPA of 3.5 or higher,
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention detail,
- Strong communication skills, and
- Desire to take initiative on experimental process and analysis.
