Corona Vases Perfect for Autumn

Late summer blooms are a seasonal delight, and Josh's most recent Corona vases - with their rich, golden hues - perfectly complement the flowers of fall.

The vases in this collection contain variegated swirling rainbows of red, orange, blue, and purple. Some are deep jewel-toned, while others are more pastel. A few possess the striated patterning that results when molten Corona glass gets pressed against cold metal or caressed with flaming newspaper. Most contain Josh's classic New Mexico glass interiors, and a few are unusually large. Altogether, they're rare and beautiful!

Presented in conjunction with the exhibition, "Fragile Beauty: Treasures from the Corning Museum of Glass," on view at the Clark through October 27.

This talk explores the intricate process behind creating one of the exhibition's stunning objects, a Simpson Megaworld.

CORNING MOBILE HOTSHOP

Two weekends ago, Josh packed up a couple of blowpipes and his special glassblowing glasses and headed west to the Clark Art Institute in Williamsburg, MA. There, on the stage of the Corning Museum of Glass's Mobile Hotshop, he demonstrated his unique methods in an entertaining two-hour presentation. Making the hard work of glassblowing look easy, he had fun with the audience of more than 200, then chatted with friends old and new, among them a fellow high school alumnus whom he last saw in 1966 and a little girl to whom he gave - of course! - a little glass Planet of her very own.
