ICANotes Updates for October 5, 2020

Practice Management Updates

Billing Report

The billing report layout has been updated to optimize program performance. Coverage, Claim History and Patient Account information are now available behind a button on the right-hand side of the screen.

Group Rules

A new group rule, Restrict Edit of Time Spent With Patient to Group Admin, has been added. This rule prevents changes to the available Length of Session options by restricting users who are not Group Admins from being able to access this area.

This rule can be enabled by a Security Administrator via the Security Center Group Rules.

User Restrictions

A new user restriction, No Add/Edit Dx, has been added to the Security Center. When enabled, the restricted user will not be able to modify or add any diagnosis on a patient's chart.

This restriction can be enabled by a Security Administrator when editing a user in the Security Center.

ANSI Options

A new ANSI option, Add Service Description to Service Loop, has been added. Using this option will add the service code's description text into the ANSI 837 file in position SV101-7 in the service loop.

Clinical Updates

New Therapist Note

A new simplified version of the Therapist (Non-Prescriber) Progress Note is now available to all ICANotes users. The basic set of buttons in the Classic version has been preserved and duplicated in the new version, which is less cluttered and includes other advantages that will become apparent with use. Users can easily switch between the Classic and New version of the note within the note's work areas.

Custom buttons for the ‘Symptoms’ shrub in the Therapist Note layout have also been restored to allow users to create custom buttons for each behavioral symptom.

Treatment Plans

When a treatment plan is saved as a progress note, a new window will open where the length of session and service code(s) can be entered. The default note owner is the person saving the treatment plan as a note, but the screen will also allow the note owner to be changed.

Risk Assessment

Our Case/Social Worker note type now includes an option to fill in a Suicide/Violence Risk Assessment.

Injection Codes

Injectable code 'J0401' has been added to the list of codes that prompt for an 11 digit NDC number.

Holiday Closings

ICANotes will be closed November 26 & 27, December 24 & 25 and January 1 in observance of the holidays.
