What a fun belated 100th day celebration in kindergarten and first grade this past week -- complete with our first graders dressing like they were 100 years old. So cute! Check out our Media Gallery for more photos.
Most importantly, we are 100+ days thankful! We LOVE having your children with us at St. Michael's and we are grateful to all of our St M parents for your kindness, encouragement, and support. YOU have made this challenging year so much more special!

2021 Spring Sports and Enrichment Activities
While COVID-19 required that we shelve our plans for the fall and winter activity seasons, given decreasing RVA infection rates (specifically percent positivity and cases per 100,000) and the success of our School’s COVID-19 mitigation strategies, St. Michael’s has thoughtfully worked to develop plans for the spring that would enable K-8 students to participate in select outdoor sports and enrichment activities with COVID safeguards in place.
We are delighted by the VERY positive response. Activities are at or nearing full capacity.
- Note: please put your child's name on the wait list if an activity has filled as we are exploring adding additional activity days if there is enough interest and instructor availability.

Welcome Back, Buckeye!
We are excited to announce that Buckeye, our first grade reading dog, will be back on campus full-time starting on Monday.
Buckeye is a trained therapy Goldendoodle and beloved member of our Lower School. He inspires our students to read, instinctively knows when someone needs cheering up, and puts big smiles on the faces of all he meets. Three cheers for Buckeye!

Playground Re-Opens
After successfully piloting new playground equipment sanitizing and COVID-safety protocols with our Extended Day program, our Lower School students will now have opportunities to safely use the playground equipment by homeroom class.

Summer Camp Registration Launches March 1
St. Michael's is hard at work planning exciting summer camp offerings for Summer 2021!
What do we have planned? We have lots of EXCITING options for everyone, including:
- Tour de Sports
- Inspired Theater and Movement
- Sense of Wonder Outdoor Camp
- Science Palooza
- Digital Movie Making
- Fishing and Outdoor Adventures (like tubing, kayaking, mountain biking, and rock climbing) with Virginia Outside
- Spanish Splash
- Extreme Minecraft for Kids, Robotics, and other new Tech Camps
- Animal Planet and all new Art Camps by ArtHaus
- My Imaginary Monster Friend: Intro to Soft Sculpture
- Cooking, Baking, and Breakfast-Making Camps
- Piano, Ukulele, and Musical Island Fun
- and SO much more!
We plan to offer both in-person AND virtual camps from June 21-August 6 for ages 4-14. Camp registration will open on MARCH 1. Stay tuned for more details! COVID-safety protocols will be in place.
Please INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS to participate! You DO NOT need to be enrolled at St. Michael’s to enjoy Summer Camp at St. Michael's.

If someone in your family has symptoms, has been exposed, or is being tested for COVID-19, please inform the School IMMEDIATELY IN WRITING via the COVID-19 Reporting Form link below. The confidentiality of the diagnosed student or faculty member will be maintained.
For all health-related questions this year, please contact Nurse Shawnetta Maben at smaben@stmschool.net.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: If you submit your COVID reporting form after hours or on weekends, please keep your child HOME until you hear from Nurse Maben on the next school day.
