Travel Oregon Industry Update Bicycle Tourism Development

Register Now for the Oregon Bicycle Tourism Summit

Travel Oregon is hosting the 2017 Oregon Bicycle Tourism Summit on March 21 at the Oregon Zoo in Portland. The event will be held in conjunction with the 2017 Oregon Active Transportation Summit (OATS). This year's Bike Tourism Summit builds upon the ongoing work of the Oregon Bicycle Tourism Partnership. The day will begin by taking a closer look at the formation of a statewide trails association, before moving into a larger discussion on how to build out world-class routes with a keynote by Louise Böhler of the German National Cyclists Federation. Scholarships Available to Attend 2017 Oregon Active Transportation Summit

Travel Oregon is offering five scholarships to attend the Oregon Active Transportation Summit (OATS) and the Bicycle Tourism Summit on March 20-21. Additional scholarships may be available for those only wanting to attend the Bike Tourism Summit. Applicants will need to clearly state why they want to attend the event(s) and what they are doing to advance bicycle tourism in Oregon. Submit your scholarship request by 5 p.m. on March 8.

Umpqua Valley Bicycle Tourism Studio Workshop

Do you live or work in the Umpqua Valley region? If so, join us for the Umpqua Valley Bicycle Tourism Studio Workshop that will be held in Roseburg on April 5. This is one of three workshops being delivered between March and April as part of the Umpqua Valley Rural Tourism Studio program. 

Recreational Trails Program Grants Available

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) has opened the 2017 Recreation Trails Program (RTP) grant cycle. RTP is a federally funded reimbursement grant program designed to help fund motorized and non-motorized recreational trail projects, including new trail construction, trail restoration, development and rehabilitation of trailhead facilities, and acquisition.
