Over the past year, Bringing Community to Westfield has served as more than a slogan—it’s been a promise. It reflects not only our investment in the new medical campus, but also our deep commitment to the people of northern Hamilton County. We’re proud to share that our caregivers have truly embraced that commitment, with many stepping into leadership roles across local nonprofit and civic organizations.
Our partnership with the Westfield Chamber of Commerce continues to grow. Derek McMichael, VP and Hospital Administrator for the future Community Hospital Westfield, was elected Vice Chair of the Chamber board for 2026 and Aaron Stanley, Director of Human Resources, was elected Board Chairman for the chamber’s Young Professionals Network.
Community leaders are also strengthening support for local nonprofit health clinics. Jill Christiansen, Vice President of Social Accountability, serves on the Trinity Free Clinic board and Barb Hybarger, Vice President of Integrated Primary Care, joined the Trinity Free Clinic board in 2025.
In addition, Que Hughes, VP and Chief Nurse Executive for Community Hospital Westfield, joined the board for Women of Westfield.
Together, these leaders are extending Community’s mission beyond our walls—building relationships, supporting local organizations, and helping shape a healthier future for Westfield and the surrounding communities.

We’re excited to share that a brand‑new primary care practice is coming to 1567 W. Tournament Trail in Westfield. While we’re aiming for an April opening, we’ll announce the official date soon—stay tuned!
For now, the exterior work is complete (it looks fantastic!), and crews are busy finishing the interior. Inside, you’ll find a 10,017‑square‑foot space designed for comfort and efficiency, including 21 exam rooms so we can see you—and your family—quickly.
Our family medicine and pediatric care teams are moving from the medical office building (MOB) to this new location, making it even easier to get the care you need in one convenient spot. You’ll see some familiar faces:
Steven Burch, DO
Killeen Finnegan, DO
Danica Vasilchek, MD
Kim Hatchett, NP
Amanda Asbury, MD — accepts referrals for early autism evaluation (14-48 months)
Michael Zimmerman, MD
Our pediatricians offer extended hours, because sniffles and sports injuries don’t always happen 9‑to‑5.
We can’t wait to welcome you in just a few weeks. We’ll share grand‑opening details, appointment scheduling information, and a peek inside the new space as we get closer. Until then, you can schedule an appointment at the current location (MOB) by calling 463-622-9200.

We reached an exciting milestone in our mission to bring exceptional care to Westfield and surrounding communities. Our employees, leaders, construction partners and community representatives gathered to celebrate the topping out of the hospital tower at Community’s Westfield campus on January 8. The event marks the placement of the final steel beam atop the six-story patient tower of the future Community Hospital Westfield and symbolizes the progress of this transformative project.
Attendees, including new Community president and CEO Dr. Patrick McGill, COO Jason Fahrlander (pictured above) and other Westfield leaders and caregivers, signed the final beam before it was lifted into place. The topping out reflects the impressive teamwork and the collective commitment behind the new campus. With the tower structure complete, the focus now shifts to enclosing the building's frame so that the interior buildout can begin.
Thank you to everyone whose hard work, dedication, and collaboration made this milestone possible. Together, we are building a future of exceptional care for the communities we serve.

Foundation president and CEO Joyce Irwin announces her retirement
|
After nearly 14 years as President and CEO of the Community Health Network Foundation, Joyce Irwin announced that she will be retiring on July 3 of this year.
Since taking the helm in 2012, Joyce has advanced the Foundation’s mission and dramatically increased philanthropic support. In total, under her leadership, the Foundation has raised more than $137 million in gifts from donors, including so many caregivers like you, to be distributed to programs across Community.
Among the many donor-funded, patient-centered programs that began under her leadership, the Oncology Patient Assistance Fund – supported each year by Giving Gig, the Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event – is notable. Established in 2014, the Fund helps qualified Community Health Network MD Anderson Cancer Center* patients access basic needs like food, gas and medicine, as well as housing and utilities assistance. Since 2014, more than 8,800 unique patients have received some form of assistance through the Fund.
Thank Joyce in person by attending this year's Giving Gig Saturday, April 18 at the Indianapolis Downtown Marriott.
