During the summer semester, The Growler will begin a bi-weekly distribution. The next issue will come out on June 16, and then will continue every other week throughout the summer. 

The Cisneros Institute for Emerging Leaders is excited to announce an opportunity for employees who are passionate about student and employee development to apply to become a certified Gallup Global Strengths Coach.

This opportunity is open to eligible employees in good standing who have completed at least one year of service at the University. Certified Strengths Coaches will serve as ambassadors for the Strengths initiative by:

• Attending quarterly campus coach meetings

• Leading multiple Strengths 101 sessions during JagX

• Supporting departmental, classroom, and campus-wide presentations

• Contributing approximately 10 hours per semester toward Strengths-related professional development initiatives.

Applicants should consider both the opportunity and the ongoing commitment required, including completion of post-course certification requirements and recertification every two years.

CAYUSE Protocol System is now open for Research and Teaching Protocol submissions requiring approval from the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and the Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC). Effective immediately, all protocols scheduled for review beginning June 2026 must be submitted through the CAYUSE platform.

The A&M–SA Leadership Academy Program is now accepting applications for the upcoming cohort. This three-year interactive leadership development program is designed to explore leadership topics, strengthen existing leadership skills, and build a foundation for effective and influential higher education leaders. Participants will meet once a month over nine months each year (September–May) through engaging presentations, discussions, and activities.

Students and faculty shared the spotlight at the Research, Innovation, Scholarship, and Exploration Symposium, which underscored the University’s growing research culture. What began in 2012 as a modest student event has evolved into a full week of panels, showcases, competitions, and awards, showcasing research across disciplines, including arts and culture, cybersecurity, health care, and conservation.

The University has once again been recognized by the Red River Athletic Conference, earning the prestigious Sportsmanship Award for the third consecutive year. The annual award honors the institution that demonstrates the highest level of sportsmanship across its athletic programs. For A&M-San Antonio, the recognition reflects the culture established by Jaguar Athletics in just a few short years.
