Andrew Zabierek’s name is chiseled in stone in the shadow of Memorial Stadium, resting among the names of 497 other known Clemson University alumni who made the ultimate sacrifice. As Clemson honors its fallen alumni with a Memorial Day ceremony on Sunday, those who knew Zabierek tell the story of his commitment, service and impact. 

This week’s Fiercely Forward Friday spotlight is Lucy Watson (middle), whose experience highlights Summer Start's impact on helping students transition to Clemson. After an injury changed her plans to pursue a professional dance career, Watson found a new purpose in physical therapy. She began her journey through Summer Start, gaining the confidence to navigate her college transition and finding a strong sense of belonging within the Clemson community.
