We often hear the words spoken or sung about being “home for Christmas.” These words can bring great comfort to the heart as so many of us think of Christmas gatherings with friends and loved ones that were a great blessing.
We know that Christmas is more than just a holiday; it is a holy day. It is a time when we are most reminded of God’s gift to the world of his only son, the Christ child, to raise us up out of our condition into Grace. I know that with all of the shopping and cooking and merriment, our most important priority as Christians can be unintentionally obscured. It is important to remember the story of our Savior’s birth in order to regain clarity.
The three wise men came bearing gifts as they were guided by the light to the humble stable. It is not as important to know what the gifts were as it is to recognize that these men wanted to give Jesus the best of what they had.
Maybe this year, you can bless someone you feel need a little extra blessing. You are certainty a huge blessing to us here at Hanging Rock.
This Christmas, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the blessings in your lives and the grace that God has given us. Let us also look forward to the coming year with hope and faith, trusting that God will continue to guide and protect us.
May your Christmas be filled with the joy and peace that comes from knowing and loving God. And may the coming year bring you and your loved one's happiness, health, and abundant blessings.
Blessings in Christ,
