The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Col. (Ret.) Dean F. Vikan, CS-03, Class of 1960. Col. Vikan passed away on April 17, 2026, in Fosston, Minnesota.

Interment with full military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on July 1, 2026, at the Memorial Pavilion at the USAFA Cemetery, 3024 Parade Loop, USAF Academy, Colorado.
A Memorial Service was held on May 14, 2026, at Hope Lutheran Church, Fosston, Minnesota.
Condolences may be left online with his obituary.
