Psalm 84:10-12
Better is one day in your courts
    than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
    from those whose walk is blameless.
Lord Almighty,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you.
New International Version (NIV)
               I get to hold a lot of doors for people at Tallowood.  When I do I always think of these words.  Serving God in this life does not exempt us from challenges and losses.  On the other hand, it puts us in the very presence of the God who created and sustains the world with his powerful word (Hebrews 1:1-4).   Serving God as a doorkeeper is better than a position of power, honored by the wicked.
                You have to love David’s math.  One day with God is better than nearly three years elsewhere.  God shines on us and shields us, showers us with favor and honor and stops at nothing to bless his people.  Frankly, God has more to offer than anybody else.  No wonder we trust him.  Those who trust God are greatly blessed.  Do you trust him today?  Go ahead and trust him.  You will see!
Pray with me:
Father, we thank you for your gracious and bountiful provision for your people.  Help us today to live as your servants.  Deliver us from the deadly pursuit of evil power.  Let us live in your sun and shade today, staying in your favor and honor.  Thank you for the good things you give us.  Give us grace to trust you more today than ever before.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
I want to invite you to join me in memorizing 52 passages this year from the 2017 set of Fighter Verses.  You can find the Fighter Verses App at the App Store on your phones or via this link  http://fighterverses.com/the-verses/fighter-verses/As we study the Bible this year, let's look at each text and learn what it says about God.
Joyfully,
