#PROUDLYPENCIL UPDATES

#ProudlyPENCIL Spotlight

For over 10 years, volunteers in The Vanderbilt Women's Club have been supporting Nashville schools through their dedicated volunteer efforts with The LP PENCIL Box. We are so lucky to have them on our team!

These wonderful women have worked with students though Reading Clinics, assisted in the aftermath of the 2010 flood when LPPB lost most of it's inventory, and they continue to serve every month by bundling school supplies!
Thank You Vanderbilt Women's Club for over 10 Years of Service!

Welcome, PENCIL's Newest Partners!

During the month of February, we added two new PENCIL Partners to our team. We look forward to seeing the amazing collaboration between these groups!

New Faces at PENCIL

PENCIL is thrilled to welcome Kaylee Noel as the newest Family Resource Center (FRC) Intern.
At PENCIL, Kaylee supports our six FRC Coordinators and helps strengthen relationships between community partners and the FRC schools.
Kaylee is attending Vanderbilt University, where she is working towards a Master of Education in Community Development and Action and will be with PENCIL for the remainder of the school year.

PENCIL is also excited to introduce Sara Aronson, the new Reading Partners & Background Check Coordinator.
At PENCIL, Sara is responsible for building a welcoming, supportive environment to ensure volunteers feel confident in conducting the Reading Partners Method.
Sara received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Endicott College in Beverly, MA. Most recently, her experience includes working at the Montessori Training Center of Brentwood in multiple roles, including Program Coordinator, Infant & Toddler Director and Lead Teacher.
Sara has two daughters currently enrolled in Metro Nashville Public Schools, and her personal mission focuses on “creating greater education access for all children.”
