Good morning! Learn about managing travel and expenses in Workday during a live webinar this afternoon. An engineering professor is honored for his contributions to transportation education; A Creative Inquiry explores mathematical ideas through artistic creation.

• The Workday team will host a live webinar at 2 p.m. today to answer questions related to managing travel and expenses in Workday. 

• The Workday Training Library contains more than 100 guides, recordings of previous webinars, and helpful tools like a worktag glossary to support faculty and staff navigating Workday. New additions include:

• Mashrur “Ronnie” Chowdhury, Eugene Douglas Mays Chair of Transportation, has received the American Road & Transportation Builders Association’s S.S. Steinberg Award in recognition of his remarkable contributions to transportation education.

For many, math and art feel like opposite ends of the spectrum. A Creative Inquiry course led by mathematics lecturer Alice Hui, with support from art professor Joey Manson, is challenging that assumption, showing students that the two disciplines often overlap in surprising and visually striking ways.

• Scientists at the Pee Dee Research and Education Center, led by molecular plant breeder Sachin Rustgi, identified naturally occurring peanut lines with lower levels of the proteins responsible for most allergic reactions. Their discovery could help plant breeders develop peanut varieties that reduce the risk of accidental allergic exposure.
