When my sister was ten, she learned to juggle. Naturally I was furious. Suddenly, every party and play date included a juggling performance, with lots of oohs and ahhs from the crowd. While I stressed over those awful “Tell the group something unique about yourself!” ice breakers, she had a ready response that was impressive without sounding showy. On July 14-16, celebrate an iconic local landmark with a cinematic claim to fame when the Colonial Theatre observes the annual Blobfest commemorating the 1958 film, The Blob, starring Steve McQueen.
This year's 'Blobs and Monsters' themed festival takes place in the heart of the Borough's walkable downtown amidst eateries and breweries.
This 24th annual event highlights Universal Monster movies and features interactive fun like the Friday night Blob Ball, featuring live music from The Ultra Kings and a free, Saturday street festival with 70 vendors, 3 bands, a DJ spinning vintage, mid-century vinyl, and a Costume Contest.
