Greetings, PERE/CSII Friend!
PERE wraps up October with some big news:
Last week, PolicyLink and PERE released a research brief and interactive website called the National Equity Atlas (www.nationalequityatlas.org)a new tool that generates and visualizes data on the economic benefits of equity.
The National Equity Atlas makes it possible for advocates across the nation to easily access data to support the argument that equity is the superior growth model. We hope this becomes a resource for communities across the country working to advance equity in their own regions.
Read on to learn about the National Equity Atlas, the research behind it, how to RSVP for a webinar tour of the site's features, and more!

How much stronger would your region's economy be with racial equity?

nationalequityatlas.org
The National Equity Atlas is a new online resource that puts unique and powerful data in the hands of community leaders and decision makers working to transform America's economy and to advance racial equity. The Atlas allows users to explore state or regional data on:
  • Demographic change;
  • Performance on a series of measures of equity and inclusion;
  • Access to the resources and opportunities diverse residents need to participate in the local economy; and
  • Strategies to advance inclusive growth.
The site provides easy-to-use and downloadable graphics that can be customized across indicators such as wages, income inequality, GDP growth, and others.
Beyond providing data summaries, charts, and maps, the Atlas also offers policy ideas and stories of how communities are using equity-driven data to drive policy change.
Mark your calendars for November 18th!

The Equity Solution: Racial Inclusion is Key to Growing a Strong New Economy
By PolicyLink and PERE
The Equity Solution highlights how the nation’s economy would be $2.1 trillion larger with racial inclusion. Inequality, racial inequity, and stagnant wages dampen growth and prosperity.
The brief urges policymakers, advocates, and business leaders to come together, working from data that describes their region's present and future, to work towards more equitable growth.
