Dear Members of the Seton Hall University Community,
I am grateful to the Board of Regents and Dr. Nyre for their support while a national search for Seton Hall's 22nd President is underway.
In the coming year, I am confident Seton Hall will achieve the strategic initiatives in Harvest Our Treasures that remain ongoing. We are delighted about the forthcoming launch of the College of Human Development, Culture, and Media. And we are excited about the imminent start of the new academic year and the vibe it will bring back to our campuses after the summer.
This is an important year of self-reflection for the University, as we finalize our Middle States self-study report and prepare for our re-accreditation visit next spring. Due to the multi-year efforts of many community members, we are well-positioned to submit a significant report that accurately represents what our Great Minds Can Do.
As I humbly assume the role of leading Seton Hall during this transition, I want to echo the words in Dr. Nyre's recent message: "You are all reasons why Seton Hall is a place where students' destinations are changed and lives are transformed."
I am reminded of the wisdom of 1 Corinthians: "Be strong and steadfast, and go to work. Do not fear or be dismayed, for the Lord God, my God, is with you." With this as our charge, I am confident we will unite in steering the University's sails toward greater distinction, no matter what the winds will bring.
I look forward to working with all of you.
Katia Passerini, Ph.D.
Interim President
