This Alianza MX seed fund supports mobility programs, including faculty-led programs, study abroad at a Mexican institutions, capstone projects and field research, for UC students to travel to Mexico in 2026-2027 of up to USD $50000 per campus.

Submission Deadline: June 30, 2025 for mobilities that take place between September 2026 through August 2027.

This Alianza MX supports with a $5000 grant UC Principal Investigators planning to present research at a conference in Mexico or organize a Mexico-related event on a UC campus between September 2025 and February 2026.

This Alianza MX funding scheme leverages funding from both institutions ($25000 per proposal, per institution) for joint research proposals in the areas of 'Industrial Transformation', 'Climate and Sustainability', and 'Prosperous Cities and Communities'. Proposals will be funding for a one-year period, with the possibility of an extension into a second year with additional funding, based on research progress and the availability of funding. Proposals must have four PIs, two from each institution.

The Fritz Thyssen Foundation based in Germany supports academic conferences organized by scholars at universities and research institutions in Germany or abroad. The funding is intended to promote scientific exchange in the Foundation’s funding areas. Funding is typically granted for events that are international in scope, involve early-career researchers, and are connected with a German institution or with German collaborators.

The VINES programs supports both fundamental NextG advanced intelligent networks systems research and its translation including through collaboration with specific international (Finland, India, Japan and Sweden) and industry (Ericsson, Intel, and Qualcomm) partners. Support for track 1 is up to $1,500,000 and for track 2 up to $6,000,000 for 3 years. If there is an international partner, costs will be split between the US and their partner with the US team receiving up to $750,000 for track 1 and between $2-4,000,000 for track 2.

This European Research Council call targets researchers holding a PhD who gain experience in other countries, disciplines and non-academic sectors as they move forward in their careers. Applicants may only have eight years of research experience in their field upon application. All fields are welcome, but the proposal should be developed together with the host institution.

The 2026-27 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Competition is now open. International Services and Engagement Office Mommy, Daddy and Me
We are excited to welcome you and your little ones to a nurturing community space. | Ministry of Education, India
The Joint Secretary from the Ministry of Education in India visited on May 29th with a delegation. Along with visits to the 21st Century India Center, the Halıcıoğlu Data Science Institute, and the Qualcomm Institute, they explored student entrepreneurship on campus and signed an MOU to promote collaborations between UC San Diego and partners across India.

| Minister of Education, Slovak Republic
The Minister of Education from the Slovak Republic led a delegation to UC San Diego to explore collaborations in AI/ML, Data Science, Innovation and the Library.

Nanyang Technological University
Nanyang Technological University visited on May 5, meeting with the School of Medicine, HDSI, Center for Healthcare Cybersecurity, VC Peek-Asa and Chancellor Khosla. The visit was with Dr. Ernst J Kuipers, the Vice President of Research. The objective of his visit was to explore potential for new areas of engagement between our two institutions, specifically focused on research collaboration and building on the discussions between presidents.

University of New South Wales
University of New South Wales visited on May 9, meeting with GPS, Intertribal Resource Center, Composite Manufacturing, SIO, La Jolla Institute of Immunology, Deep Decarbonization Initiative, and Chancellor Khosla. The delegation included the Vice Rector and President, Deputy Vice Chancellor Global, and the Director of the Office of Research Strategy.

Universidad Provincial de Cordoba
The Rector of the Provincial University of Cordoba, María Julia Oliva Cúneo, visited UC San Diego on Thursday, June 5 to explore collaborations between our universities with an emphasis in Arts and Humanities and Social Sciences. She toured facilities and held productive meetings with Education Studies, Latin American Studies, Cognitive Science, Music, and Visual Arts.
